Voltzon Provides Solar Energy to Institutions in Tanzania

Co-founded and directed by Pepijn Steemers, Voltzon is a renewable energy company based in Tanzania that commonly provides its services to public institutions. By focusing on institutions like schools and health clinics, the team is able to provide support that other similar providers can't like uninterrupted service and a minimal amount of noise pollution.

Steemers and Laura Smeets recently got invited to attend the 2014 Unreasonable Institute event and raised the needed $12,000. The social and environmental goals that come with their innovations include the health concerns due to persistence of dangerous kerosene lamps in rural areas. What is more, schools and health clinics do not have reliable sources of energy.
