The ‘Volkswagen Beetle Mobile Shark Cage’ is a Submerged

Discovery Channel recently teamed up with automotive company Volkswagen and marine biologist Luke Tipple to bring us the one-of-a-kind ‘Volkswagen Beetle Mobile Shark Cage.’

The creation of the car came just in time for Discovery Channel’s 25th annual Shark Week. The car is an underwater shark cage in the shape of the iconic VW Beetle, which allows the driver to coast along the ocean floor and simultaneously interact with the sharks.

Justin Osborne, the general manager of Volkswagen America had this to say when asked about the Beetle shark cage: "We wanted the integration to be authentic and fit naturally with the Volkswagen brand, imprinting our signature style on Shark Week."

The body of the car is made out of tubular aluminum, classic bug headlights, alloy wheels, propellers and a full-air system to allow drivers to breath comfortably while driving. It’s a very cool design, but it probably wont pass and sort of safety standards!
