Infant-Comforting Apps

Samsung's 'Voices for Life' App Comforts Premature Babies in the Hospital

'Voices for Life,' a new app that Samsung is developing, sends recordings from parents to premature babies who are in the hospital in order to make them feel closer to home.

Since premature babies have a higher chance of developing language and attention problems, the Voices for Life app hopes to help counter this issue by allowing parents to communicate with their children. Parents can communicate by speaking, reading stories and singing lullabies to their children. It will also be able to record the mothers' heartbeat for the baby to hear. This is intended to comfort the child and allow them to have more contact with their parents than they would otherwise.

The app will "wombify" any recorded noises by removing any high-frequency sounds in the recording that would potentially be harmful or uncomfortable for the baby to hear.
