Karlie Kloss Wears Super-Sized Hair for September Vogue

Model Karlie Kloss is featured in a Vogue editorial called ‘Top Coats’ which shows off the coats of fall, but what’s more notable is her huge hair.

Photographed by David Sims, Karlie Kloss shows off the fashions by also showing off a wild Afro, complete with a flattened-down middle, creating a kind of hair hat. Not a look I think I’ll be pursuing, but it’s definitely a fun avant-garde shoot for Vogue.

Implications - This ad is not without its controversy. Some critics chided Sims and Kloss for putting an ad in Vogue that seemed to imitate black women, especially in light of Vogue's shaky history with black models. Nevertheless, the shoot is an interesting diversion from your average Vogue editorial, and deserves credit for sparking a pop culture debate, whether it intended to or not.
