Virtual Architecture Puzzles

Online Learning Game Rebuilds Historical Sites

The Discovery Channel site has put up some virtual architecture puzzles that you can put together online. You can rebuild the long-gone architecture in the puzzles with an interface that allows you to place the virtual pieces just as you would place puzzle pieces in the real world. When the piece is in the correct place, the program confirms with a clicking sound.

Contributions to the project were made by the University of Cincinnati and the University of Tbingen and include:

1. The Odeion theater that was near the center of Troy in current day Turkey.

2. The Cistercian Abby of Pilis, from 12th century Hungary

3. A village of the Hopewell People of Ohio

4. A Shaker village of Ohio
