Business titan Richard Branson is taking on a new venture dubbed, 'Virgin Pure,' a top of the line water-purification system branded with the brand's emblem. While the man has conquered the skies -- airlines, mobile and entertainment -- offering a solution to bottled water is slightly offbeat.
Virgin is partnering with Izraeli designers Strauss Group, who specialize in manufacturing purification systems. The sleek countertop apparatus can serve refreshing water with the push of a button. The machine filters the water smoothly and can be served hot or cold. The device solves the problem of having to wait for filter to trickle through and eliminates the need for plastic water bottles. The only downside to this high-tech appliance is the price -- ringing in at almost $500.
