Popular Movie Pictograms

Graphic designer Viktor Hertz Uses Pictograms to Recreate Movie Posters

Through a series of artistic reinterpretations of popular movie posters, the latest project by graphic designer and photographer Viktor Hertz is set to establish him as a creative force in the design community.

"What I do, is that I make quite a simple movie poster, including one or a few pictograms displaying the theme of the film," said Hertz. "Either original pictograms combined, or modified ones to fit with the film."

The movies used for his minimalist pictograms range from massive modern films like Spider-Man to classics like Jaws and the Exorcist. The Victor Hertz pictograms are an ongoing project, so you can expect the list of movies featured to expand.

Viktor Hertz’s pictograms have proven to be a hit. Prints of the posters are now available for sale. To see my favorite pictograms, check out the gallery above.
