Foster + Partners produce the design visualization for a supertall viewing tower that is to be erected adjacent to the Gherkin skyscraper in London. While its existent neighbor is 180 meters in height, the proposed soon-to-be tourist hot spot is a stunning 305.3 meters which grants it the status of a supertall building — anything above 300 meters.
Foster + Partners does not settle for a traditional viewing tower either. Aside from the height, the concept of the structure is accentuated through its entertaining functionality. The architectural firm includes a rotating gondola on the building's facade which is sure to make it even more worth-while for tourists.
The supertall viewing tower has been approved by the City of London and the construction is scheduled to begin in 2020.
