Emma Allen Depicts Life, Death, Decay and Reincarnation

London-based multimedia makeup artist Emma Allen, who specializes in face and body painting, recently created a 75-second stop motion video that illustrates the story of 'Life, Death And Reincarnation' of a woman using makeup. The video called ‘Ruby’ is created to demonstrate the beautiful yet fleeting cycle of life that shows a woman in the process of aging, dying, death, and coming back to life. The video delicately animates the process of life and how individuals are connected to the physical world around us, urging us to appreciate life and to take a moment to marvel at the wonderful processes of each and every entity of life on earth.

The video is "[a]n animated self-portrait exploring the idea of rebirth and illustrating the transfer of energy from one incarnation to another. I painted this stop frame animation on myself over 5 days, using some face paints, a mirror and a camera", Says Allen on ‘Ruby.'
