Instagram is Putting Adds on IGTV Content in a Move Toward Monetization

Instagram is testing a new feature that brings video ads to IGTV in a concerted effort to continue to monetize the platform. The video ads were created for mobile viewers, and they run for a maximum length of 15 seconds. Ads will start before the content users are watching, and users will have the option to skip ads.

The ads will be tested for the remainder of the year and following that the platform will decide to include them in the normal app. Overall the feature will help the platform to drive more revenue from advertising.

Along with video adds IGTV will also have digital badges, which will be available for purchase from, Instagram Shopping.
