Valerii Danevych Creates Watches and Clocks Entirely Out of Lumber

Valerii Danevych is a master craftsmen who descends from a family of cabinet-makers. Surrounded by the art of carpentry, it is no surprise that he himself would end up working with wood. But instead of pieces of furniture and other traditional designs, Valerii Danevych turned his attention towards creating miniature models. He then went on to create working mechanical objects entirely out of wood.

Born and based in Kiev, Ukraine, Valerii Danevych's most impressive work happens to involve timepieces. His watches and clocks are as intricate as traditional ones with the main difference being the materials used. In place of metal and stainless steel, Valerii Danevych used wood. To make matters even more complex and impressive, his timepieces are small. According to him, the change of material can store 20 hours of reserve power.
