There are two flat horizontal surfaces to this piece of furniture that are joined by means of folded fabric. You can draw the top panel upwards and see the material slowly straightening as the cubby space increases in height. The drawstring system does not support the tabletop of Kostantia Manthou's Un-Tidy Side Table, which actually balances above the items stowed inside.
