The Unsound Festival Will Reveal a Line of Music Perfumes

As far as music festivals go, the Unsound Festival isn’t as widely known as some of its counterparts. This idea they’re coming up with now though, will definitely generate a lot of interest. The festival will be creating fragrances based on music and sound.

One big theme in recent years is the blurring of lines between senses. Whether it be combining taste with sight, or in this case scent with hearing, the once defined senses are all melting together.

German perfumer Geza Schoen is collaborating with Ben Frost, Tim Hecker and Kode9 for the project, which will be showcased at Unsound New York. The scents contain aspects from iconic sounds of each of the artists mentioned in fragrant form. While it’s yet to be determined how they will create these scents, the idea itself is as exciting as the music it’s based off of.
