Uniquedee Renders Stunning Celebrities Using a Layered Approach

DeviantART user Uniquedee, whose real name is Darang, manages to uses vector graphics in a manner that lessens the sterility of the software tool. Seen here are a handful of celebrity portraits the emerging artist has rendered, and the results are near hyperrealistic quality, but more importantly, they look as though they were analog drawings or paintings.

For those unfamiliar with how vectors work, they allow users to produce perfect shapes that can be colored and layered on top of one another. Often times, the resulting images seem rather elementary or are looked down upon by other illustrators since a person can theoretically trace a perfect image, but Uniquedee’s use of vectors is so meticulously well done that she may as well have used an airbrush. If it weren’t for a few minor details, you’d think you were staring at photographs.
