Retro Russian Couture

The Ulyana Sergeenko Spring Couture Line Marries 80s and 2000s Russia

Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2016 Couture is a collection that takes fashion fans back in time. Inspired by the styles that dressed Russia long ago, this lush lineup features 42 looks of vintage fashion.

Designer Ulyana Sergeenko is normally inspired by her native Russia but this collection speaks a different theme than her previous collections. For the Spring 2016 season, Sergeenko was inspired by Russia in the 1980s as well as at the turn of the 20th century. The designer recreated these old timely styles with voluminous sleeves, leather newsboy caps, outré shapes, molded leather corsets and lace slip dresses.

With Soviet-era Russia becoming a major hit in fashion -- as well as retro styling -- it's refreshing that Ulyana Serfeenko managed to beautifully marry both styles.
