Microphone-Jamming Bracelets

Researchers Created an Ultrasonic Bracelet to Protect Privacy

Researchers from the University of Chicago created an ultrasonic bracelet, which is able to jam microphones. The ultrasonic bracelet is able to do this by sending ultrasonic signals to microphones in the area. The bracelet is more effective than traditional jamming technology, as the movement from the user's wrist is able to account for blind spots that ultrasonic signals would not otherwise be able to detect.

Currently, the bracelet is just a prototype, however, investors have speculated that the bracelet could be produced for approximately $20. The ability to jam microphones in the area could be popular for a number of different privacy-conscious consumers, many of which are wary of microphones being around them at all times.
