Typewritten Portraits

OpenOffice Marilyn Monroe

Martin Missfeldt created this Marilyn Monroe portrait with a word processing application named openOffice.org, which is very similar to Microsoft Word.

The video shows in step-by-step detail how Missfeldt carefully and purposely typed Marilyn's portrait.

It is just amazing to me how he managed to be so precise and come up with Marilyn's likeness with a word processing program.

This artwork demonstrates the immense influence of the Internet, even in an artistic medium. As the digital world evolves with growing social media site, future generations will find new ways to use it as their creative outlet.
