Underground Turtle Tunnels

This Railway Company Created Tunnels to Help Turtles Cross the Tracks

In a collaborative effort between the Suma Aqualife Park in Kobe and the West Japan Railway Company, turtle tunnels have been created to help turtles cross dangerous tracks.

The turtle tunnels are designed to pass underneath the railway tracks and provide a tube-like system allowing creatures to walk freely. The tunnel has an open top so the critters can decide when they have arrived at their destination.

This clever tunnel system is a socially good act that will ensure more turtle lives are saved. The system is fairly cost effective and will not interfere with the railway in any way. The tunnels were established earlier this year, and have already been noticeably used by the turtles within the area.
