Eco-Island Villages

The Diller Scofidio + Renfro is a Simulated Islet Providing Tropical Homes

Diller Scofidio + Renfro is the design team behind the innovative eco-island located in the south China sea that offers topical homes for consumers to live in in the middle of the water. The isle is located two kilometres out past the beaches in an atypical circular land mass built to provide luxe amenities, harbors and cruising ports.

The aesthetic of the island was decided upon through the HNA Infrastructure competition, that chose the best team to put the communal artificial island together. The Diller Scofidio + Renfro team won thanks to their simplistic and streamlined aesthetic that takes inspiration from volcanos from t he area. The shape of the island resembles a crescent with docks along half of the isle and housing, agricultural space and recreational amenities on the other. Photo Credits: designboom, dsrny
