The 'Tree.ONE' From the ecoLogicStudio is Naturalistic

The 'Tree.ONE' is a 3D-printed tree sculpture that incorporates air purification technology as a kind of biomimicry that's inspired by the purifying properties of real trees.

The sculpture has been designed by the ecoLogicStudio and was commissioned by the Hyundai Motor Company before being unveiled at the Chengdu Biennale 2023. The tree features a spectacular construction that includes 3D printed components that include the Roots, Trunk and Canopy, and utilize bioreactors filled with liquid microalgae to capture pollutants and store them inside. This follows the same process used by natural tres.

The 'Tree.ONE' identifies how nature could be used as the inspiration and prototype for elevating urban environments where trees might not otherwise fit. The sculpture is presently on display in Chengdu, China at the Chengdu Contemporary Art Museum through November 22, 2023.
