This Tree-Covered School is a Model for Sustainable Development

Vietnamese firm Vo Trong Nghia Architects recently released plans to create a tree-covered university campus. The unique design will surround the campus with green space, and will be built to accommodate multiple open-air levels where trees will be planted. The tree-covered rooftops and balconies will overlook the sprawling courtyard, which will act as the central meeting place on campus.

The massive structure will contrast the surrounding skyscrapers, and will be a model for future sustainable projects. In Asia, this design is one of the few modern architectural concepts that allows for increased green space, while others often want to eliminate it.

The explosion of greenery will provide shade and improve air quality, which will reduce reliance on air conditioning. The current project successfully executes the design team's plan to increase green space in densely populated metropolitan cities.
