The TransWater Project Helps Communities Construct Efficient Carriers

For many communities around the world, clean water is not close-by. For these folks, TransWater carriers would become some of the most valuable contraptions that they own, for they would assist significantly in moving heavy aqua from the source to the homestead.

What Yiannis Hadjipapas came up with was a system of several clever ways to move barrel-like water containers from A to B. Contraptions inspired by wheel-barrows, dollies and backpacks are described with informative diagrams in the helpful TransWater booklet. With this, people in third world countries can use found materials locally to emulate these ergonomic designs. The equivalent of one to three jerry cans can be more comfortably delivered home––more volume than what a person can typically expect to collect during a single trip.
