If you ever need proof that everything truly is bigger in Texas, look no further than the Traditions Club Gingerbread House. This edible house is the size of an actual home and was recently given the Guinness World Record for being the largest gingerbread house ever built. The house was built much like a normal home in that it required a building permit to erect and was built on a solid foundation and features a wooden frame.
A total of 7,200 pounds of flour, 7,200 eggs, 3,000 pounds of brown sugar, 1,800 pounds of butter and 22,304 pieces of candy were used to bring this amazing gingerbread house to life. The Traditions Club, a golf club located in the city of Bryan in Texas, built the house to raise money St. Joseph Level II Trauma Center. So far the house has raised $150,000 via ticket admission ticket sales.
