The UK-based wildlife monitoring network 'TRAFFIC' recently launched a series of workshops that encourage traditional medicine practitioners to use more humane ingredients. As part of its new campaign, TRAFFIC is hosting a series of workshops at traditional medicine schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The workshops are designed to encourage traditional medicine practitioners to use cruelty-free ingredients that do not come from endangered species. As TRAFFIC’s Vietnam head Madelon Willemsen explains, the workshops ensure "not only that the students are never putting themselves or their patients at risk, but also that they are not pushing rare species closer to extinction."
