Unenclosed Airport Toy Stores

This Store Was Placed in the Middle of an Airport to Occupy Kids

While a children's toy store is not often the first thing people see in the middle of airports, there was one designed in the Bangalore, India airport by the creative agency 'Foley Designs.'

The space was named 'Zwoosh' after the sound that children make when pretending to fly airplanes, and rather than functioning as a separate store it appears as more of a popup -- with openings in place of doors and no ceiling. The space is covered in brightly colored shelves and interactive play areas, and was designed to keep children occupied in airports while they are waiting for their flights.

This vibrant retail space functions as a space that lures families in with the appeal of helping time pass, and as a result is more likely to increase its sales in the process.
