stackt is a New Cultural & Community Hub in Toronto

LGA Architectural Partners oversaw the design and construction of stackt — an embellishment to the ever-creative list of Toronto neighborhoods. The destination is envisioned to give artists, artisans, and consumers a place to converge. The public space is expected to satisfy the functions of a rich public sphere that will serve as a tightly knit cultural hub.

The new Toronto neighborhood accent features 120 new and reclaimed shipping containers. This decision in construction is made consciously and it falls under a contemporary movement, where architects choose to engage with these types of structures due to the exponentially versatile design and the sustainable connotations that come with it.

The shipping container-centric space will host a mix of local, national and international brands, establishing a direct-to-consumer business model and providing the public with a one-of-a-kind experience.
