Katelyn Peissig, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, has designed a Timberland Earthkeepers shoebox that offers easy reusability.
Peissig, along with her classmates, was tasked with redesigning and creating a sustainable, eco-friendly shoebox for a real shoe company, and she decided to choose the Timberland Earthkeepers brand as her focus. After redesigning the logo so that it represented the brand's organic and eco-friendly footwear, Peissig moved on to the box itself, which she redesigned with materials that are 100 percent recyclable. She also designed the Timberland Earthkeepers shoebox with foldable elements so that it can be folded for easy storage, thus promoting reusability. She then added a biodegradable handle that acts like a latching system to keep the shoes inside, thereby decreasing the need for shopping bags.
