Fallen Heroes

Olympian Tim Montgomery Busted for Heroin

The next record Tim Montgomery is set to create is his own prison record. The former Olympian sprinter was busted for distributing heroin and will serve a mandatory five-year sentence.

Tim Montgomery was caught selling heroin to an undercover agent, according to the AFP, and pled guilty to his charges. In 2002, Tim Montgomery set a world record in the 100-meter dash; three years later, that record was expunged after Montgomery was linked to the BALCO steroid scandal.

Tim Montgomery's five-year prison term will add to the three years and 10 months he was sentenced in May for a conspiracy and bank fraud scandal from April 2007.
