Wasteful Food Illustrations

Till Rabus Paints the Surreal with Photorealistic Precision

Many artists are attempting photorealism in an attempt to demonstrate their technical abilities, but staring at these Till Rabus illustrations, I literally took a good 30 seconds before I realized they were indeed not photographs. The attention to real-life detail is just that immaculate.

Till Rabus is a French artist and his combination of hyperrealism with surrealistic subjects leaves viewers completely aghast. He definitely draws inspiration from the incredible Salvador Dali, but never loses sight of his own style. The images in this gallery all feature edible foods as subjects. Looking at the detail on his painting of goosebumps is literally giving me goosebumps!

Implications - Consumers are attracted to surreal imagery because they offer consumers a sense of escape, which they in turn use to relieve stress. Corporations may similarly employ surrealistic imagery in stress-relief products.
