Intel Created a Tiger Lake Processor That Protects Against Malware

Intel recently created a new Tiger Lake processor, which features integrated malware protection. The Tiger Lake chip features Control-Flow Enforcement Technology, or Intel CET, which prevents against the misuse of legitimate code. This allows the chip to block common instances of malware that is further supported by Intel CET, which also has CPU-level security features.

Intel stated that the chip will be used in future desktops, as well as enterprise server platforms. Intel has also been working alongside Microsoft to work the technology into Windows 10, which will be named Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection.

Tech-oriented consumers may be drawn towards products that have native malware protection, due to convenience. As these consumers would not need to be as diligent with anti-virus software.
