Rain Gear-Themed Tables (UPDATE)

The Playful 'This is Not an Umbrella!' Collection Debuts in Milan

The Rasko Naibaf Berlin-based art studio has released the 'This is not an umbrella!' line at the 2012 Milan Design Week. The side tables are miniature parasols, done up in charcoal and orange shades. This approach to furnishing is a unique and delicate one as the pieces appear fragile, supported by a rounded handle. The collapsing feature is intentional here, deliberately made to echo the transience of familiar objects.

According to the designers, the This is not an umbrella! collection is a reference to the absurdity of life. Art and interior decoration does not have to make perfect sense, much like random daily occurrences that could not have been predicted. Whether one is for or against the concept, however, it certainly does offer a new take on rain gear.
