'Things Come Apart' Deconstructs Vintage Items and Modern Tech

'Things Come Apart' is the newest book from Canadian artist Todd McLellan. Some of you may remember McLellan from 'Disassembly Series,' a collection of photographs showing what gadgets looked like when broken down into individual parts. Things Come Apart takes things up a notch, with the artist mixing in vintage and retro items with modern tech.

Everything from Blackberry handsets to chainsaws are broken down into individual parts in Things Come Apart. Taking apart items piece by piece is a skill all in itself, but artfully arranging and photographing said pieces is no small task. You can check out a small sampling of the book here, as well as a time lapse video showing McLellan assembling and disassembling vintage items like typewriters and tape recorders.
