'The Witness' from 13th Street Universal Puts You in the Movie

If you thought augmented reality was just a passing fad, then you obviously haven't heard about 'The Witness.' The Witness is a new film from German television channel 13th Street Universal that lets you actively participate in the film.

The film centers around a young Russian prostitute named Nadia who was kidnapped. 'The Witness' was premiered to a lucky few who were randomly chosen from an online contest. The winners were sent to a Berlin hotel room where they saw the first scene of the film through their iPhones via the magic of augmented reality.

From that point on, the spectators were a part of the film as they were guided via GPS all around Berlin attempting to solve riddles and make the right choices to ensure their "survival" as well as Nadia's. Participants who made the right choices and moved the quickest saved the girl, while those who made the wrong moves ended up killing Nadia and themselves. Check out the video to see a brief overview of 'The Witness' as well as footage of people actually "playing" the movie.
