Though located in Quebec, 'The T House' by Natalie Dionne Architecture seems more like an antique Italian villa. Located atop a hillside plateau, the home offers panoramic views of the encircling valleys and mountains (the Appalachian mountain ridges, to be exact.)
The topography plays an important role in the construction and composition of the home, modelled in a T-shape along the North-South and East-West axes. This unique floor plan causes the house to be separated into three distinct sections: the living area, guest rooms and kitchen, with the dining area connecting the three fragmented segments.
The compact, cubic structure features an exterior of both wood and concrete paneling. The Eastern side of the home exhibits a terrace, which optimizes the natural light of the rising sun, whereas the Southern side boasts a mineral patio, a rectangular pool and forest views. Meanwhile, the interior is composed of built-in furniture and finishing materials such as torrefied wood, Corten steel, white oak paneling as well as limestone and slate.
