Grotesque Movie Monster Cakes

This Birthday Cake was Modeled After a Movie Monster From The Thing

An Instructables user decided to make a disturbingly disfigured birthday cake for her significant other, modeled after John Carpenter's 'The Thing.' The result was so gruesome that it would be psychologically scarring to actually eat a slice.

This head-splitting dessert was largely made using fondant, water and a paint brush. The base of this frightening confection was made using Rice Crispy mix, and a whole lot of mini marshmallows. Other tasty ingredients include chocolate and some peanut butter buttercream icing. It's funny that the ingredients are mouth watering, but The Thing cake design itself is enough to make you lose your lunch.

This extremely detailed movie monster cake turned out well in the way that it looks like it was ripped right out of the movie. While the directions for constructing this cake can be found on Instructables, only artistic baking enthusiasts will get the same end result.
