Green Bowl Getaways

The Spur Offers a Tranquil Green Public Space for Manhattanites

Designed and conceived in partnership between Friends of the High Line, James Corner Field Operations and Diller Scofilio + Renfro, the Spur is a conceptual round garden in the middle of New York. The proposed design would be for the final stage of the New York's High Line's development. This idea features an immersive green bowl, a dense green space that would change throughout the year.

The Spur will be a secluded space for tranquility that will offer startling contrast to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan's urban area. The metropolitan getaway will include a variety of plant life as well as an extension of the current rail yard loop. The Spur is set to be completed in late 2014. Photo Credits: designboom
