Reclosable Cans

Coca Cola Burn

Thanks to a new type of can top made of plastic and aluminium, it is now possible to reseal both steel and aluminium cans after initial opening. The “Ball Resealable End” is the top of a can into which a flat opening mechanism made of plastic is integrated. A simple rotating movement uncovers the opening.
The first reclosable beverage can from Ball Packaging, is for Coca−Cola's 500 ml energy drink 'Burn' that will be launched on the French market this month. The reclosable beverage can is an innovation which has everything to make it to become a real classic, as a market survey showed that the reclosability significantly increases the "consumer appeal" of the can and contributes substantially to the differentiation of existing brands.

In the new type of container, beverages stay just as cool as standard cans. The new can top forms a complete barrier against light and gas − an essential prerequisite for the quality of the beverage.
