The Mortehoe House Features Local Stone and a Classic New England Design

Architect Mclean Quinlan created the Mortehoe House on the Devon Coast, with natural green oak boarding and fully local stoning.

The home is made in a simple gabled form, pulling inspiration from classic New England beach houses that line the US Atlantic coastline. The large interior features a simple staircase that divides the living space in half, creating a space that is open, yet dedicated to different purposes. By designing a pitch in the roof, the home has a spacious double-height room on the second storey, with a minimalist and clean white color scheme. Large glass panels fill each room with natural lighting and views of the surrounding landscape.

By mixing luxurious design with classic architecture, the Mortehoe House is a one-of-a-kind beach house.
