Today's consumer demands progressively more and more creative, inventive goods; engineering design boutique Rock Paper Robot has created the 'Float Table' to satiate this need. The piece of furniture features floating pieces of wood that make up a huge cube to be used as a table.
This piece of furniture is made up of blocks that repel each other using magnets, effectively having them levitate. The blocks are actually held together using thin steel cables. This matrix of magnetized wooden cubes uses the laws of physics to repel these cubes and are individually handcrafted to retain the company's desire to precisely fine tune each product until it becomes almost delicately balanced instead of it becoming rigid and solid.
