The Book of Dads photo series captures new fathers in the waiting room of hospitals (or right in the middle of the action) as their significant other delivers their child. A poignant series that turns the attention on the other part of the parental equation, it shows that while men don't go through all of the pain that women due during childbirth, they experience a lot of anxiety and anticipation.
Shot by Dave Young, The Book of Dads was commissioned by The Book of Everyone for Father's Day. Shot at the Chelsea & Westminster hospital during April, a slew of other emotions are also captured including elation, concern and more. Some of the images even capture the exact moment the baby arrives. It's Nice That points out, "The fact we never see either mother or baby only adds to the pictures’ potency."
