The Adidas Football Cathedral

The Adidas Football Cathedral

We're going to start seeing an explosion of soccer ads during the World Cup season of insanity, but I'm only posting the good stuff. Like this Adidas fresco ceiling painting in the railway station in Cologne Germany. Quite beautiful. It's the Sistine Chapel of advertising.

Implications - Advertisements that play off of religious paintings can be considered controversial. However, in this case of the Adidas Football Cathedral, it is a clear demonstration that the company understood their target audience. Soccer players as well as other sports participants have been put on a high pedestal and to the target, are literally godlike. The advertising agency was able to clearly identify their target demographics and executed a perfect ad.
