'Tete A Tete' is an Exploration into Social Phenomena

Tête à Tête was created by Axel de Wilde, an artist that is based in the Netherlands. The project is a combination of film, stop motion and portraits caught on still film. The idea behind the collection started from Axel de Wilde’s need to explore existing social phenomena which includes social masks.

The idea that people hide behind these social masks that are created to protect one’s identity is the main thesis behind Tête à Tête. The highly emotive and exaggerated masks are there to make people more aware of their social behavior. Many of these social masks that people create are formed by environment and by choices. The collection shows what happens to people once they are removed from positive or negative sound and daily existence. This thought-provoking collection by up-and-coming artist Axel de Wilde is one that will allow people to explore their inner selves.
