The 'Tea.Tanic' tea bag holder was created by designer Gordon Adler, and just as the name suggests, it is an ode to the sunken Titanic ship. While many major motion pictures, posters and online blogs have been dedicated to the event, few have incorporated the iconic tragedy into an at-home beverage accessory. Adler has opted for the unusual however, merging the famous occurrence with a cafe-oriented product.
This original tea holder has been made in Germany, and is currently being sold in a stainless steel form. According to Adler, the piece can fit virtually any coffee or tea mug, and is practical in that it squeezes the flavors in their entirety from loose leaf bags. The reference to those who lost their lives in the incident is significant here, displaying a novel way to express remembrance.
