Bamboo Shoot-Inspired Skyscrapers

Taipei's Newest Skyscraper Will Be Shaped After Green Bamboo

Architectural group Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners is set to create Taipei's newest skyscraper that is shaped like green bamboo shoots. This new building will include two luxury hotels and will reach 280 meters tall. Featuring curved edges, a green glass facade and an angled tip, this building is set to blend Chinese bamboo shoots and pleated columns from ancient Greece "some of the oldest elements from the East and West in modern harmony."

The two hotels featured in this building will be made by Hyatt, with distinctly different identities and will be the brand's first dual-luxury development in Asia. With a retail area and a modern pool design at the top, Taipei's newest skyscraper is set to bring in tourists from all over the world.
