The Tadao Cern 'Ginger' Series Has a Soul

With this series, Tadao Cern is aiming to put a human face on the ginger label. In order to do so, the Vilnius, Lithuania-based photographer shot nearly 100 portraits of red-headed people.

From youth to middle age; from women to men, Cern has photographed people from various walks of life who all share one thing in common: red hair. Tadao Cern also focuses on everyday people rather than celebrities; Christina Hendrix and Carrot Top might skew people's perceptions a bit (albeit in different directions).

Of course, the series was made in the context of all the ginger-related remarks that have riddled the Internet in recent years. These range from silly jokes that are all in good to remarks that border on and often cross the line on what can be considered in good taste.
