Chalkable Craft Mats

The Tablette Blackboard Equips On-the-Go Artists with a Slice-Safe Slate

While at architecture school, I occasionally found myself preparing pieces of my models in transit. Something like the Tablette Blackboard would have been an ideal tool to tote in my bag, especially for those times when it was necessary for the knife to come out.

Just smaller than the dimensions of your typical clipboard, the Atelier-D product by Jonathan Dorthe is something you can carry with you to class and use as a grid for cutting paper and scoring thin pieces of wood. Three different textural options give you either a grid, a diamond pattern or zigzag etching. On the flip side of the Tablette Blackboard, the artist is provided with a slate surface and a white marker that allows him to doodle as ideas form and then later wipe them away.
