The Coil Lamp is a tabletop lamp design by Toronto's Castor Design that has one thing in common with Apple Macbooks—they're both powered by Apple magsafe adapters. Just as you'd plug in the cord to give your laptop a battery boost, this lamp works in the exact same way, with a place to plug in an Apple adapter at the top of the lighting fixture.
The unusual light does not come with a magsafe adapter, which makes it a lamp that's most useful to Apple users. Castor Design's lamp began as a prototype in January 2013 and has since been named a winner in the Lighting Projects Design Category for the Silver A’ Design Award for its creative use of materials.
