It was designed by Seth Ellsworth who runs a Chicago-based design studio. The studio likes to venture and try new designs with architecture and furniture. This design features an authentic-looking phonograph at its base with a little wooden dock placed at the top in which one's smartphone or music device can be mounted.

The use of a horn in this design allows for the rich sound that cannot be attained through use of digital devices and it is said to increase volume by 30 percent.
