Pre-Fab Pipe Pavilions

This Sydney Architecture Festival Pavilion is Made from 2000 Recycled Tubes

Students from the University of New South Wales constructed this prefabricated pipe pavilion for the Sydney Architecture festival using exclusively recycled materials.

The pavilion was first constructed in university buildings and then transported to the Sydney Architecture Festival where it was assembled in less than a day. Meant to serve as both an eco-friendly structure and an educational monument to sustainable architecture, the structure is both an aesthetically and environmentally successful triumph.

Implications - Recycling has long been regarded in society as a necessary move that all eco-conscious consumers should peruse. However, the green movement now demands that modern companies take their green initiatives one step further and introduce up-cycling as a by-product of recycling.
