Mark de Jong created the Swing House, a unique space that is part restoration project and part art installation.
The whimsical space has a unique twist on architectural design. From the street, the facade has a vintage feel that falls in line with the surrounding historic Cincinnati neighborhood. The interior was completely peeled apart, with all walls and flooring removed to make space for a large three-story swing. The seat is intricately suspended on a pair of thick and rustic-looking ropes at the direct center of the home, allowing guests to swing forward from the kitchen all the way into the bedroom.
Organized by the Contemporary Arts Center, the Swing House by Mark de Jong will be available to visit all summer.
